"Dear Taylor Swift, A Year In The Life Of The Artist Rush Whitacre Through His Letters"

Fun Fact:

Friends and family found out that I had written this Taylor book, and because I vowed to not look up anything about her, that I would allow the world to just continue to reveal things to me as they would happen some decided to begin mailing me stuff, articles, pictures, fake love letters.  In one of the Articles Taylor mentioned that she never missed a Metropolitan Museum Ball, because they were that important to her.  I just so happened to be working at the Metropolitan Museum.  I decided that at the risk of losing my job, and maybe even being tackled or arrested that I would work the Metropolitan Ball, and that I would search out Taylor Swift and ask her to dance with me.  I didn't get asked to work the Ball party,,, well, not at first.  a few short hours before the party I got called in to work the party, some guard apparently decided to call off.  With my invite to work the party I showed up and prepared by searching the entire Met before the party started searching out all the different angles for which I could run into Taylor, and where I would ask her to dance, and for where we might have space to dance.  Taylor never showed up, and I never got to dance with her.  Shortly after that my dad fell ill and I put in my two weeks notice and moved back to Beverly Ohio to help take care of him.

This book is just about a life, mine, my story that I am sharing with you.  My journey through this past year, through my finishing up of Grad school, to the events that led to my reoccurring dream(the one that started me down the path of writing these letters in the first place), through some of the saddest moments of my life, and some of my happiest.  My downfalls and triumphs in my move to New York City, and to the near death of both my parents in the same week, I have laid it all out on the table, uncut, uncensored, and unedited.  This is my life, and here in these pages you will see my flickering flame dart from almost smoked out, to forest fire rage with enthusiasm.  Sometimes it was simply the ‘knowing’ that I would be writing one of these letters at the end of the day that would bring me through.  With these letters I was able to remain alive inside even when everything faltered and crumbled around me.  You may find yourself in my pages, my poems, and sometimes wrapped up inside my arms crying with me as I did upon my work countless times.  For everyone that has helped me, loved me, and loves me still, this is for you.

365 letters with 365 poems, 608 pages.  More details at Lulu.com

Fun Fact:

Something happened to me in the year 2000 that caused me to notice that the number 13 was all around me.  Every time I was sad and confused in my life and just wanted to know that I was doing the right thing or that I was heading in the right direction the number 13 would make itself apparent before my eyes.  sometimes in the form of a T-shirt, sometimes in the form of a license plate, or less conspicuous like make there were 13 place settings or such around a table.  I started to take notice, and tried to just shrug it off, but that number has persisted, and has remained to be there for me.  I have began saying that I am 13's lucky person, not that 13 is my lucky number, but that the number 13 has actually chosen me to be lucky for it, and maybe I just happen to show up for it when it needs me too, is that so crazy of a thing? :)
